  • The new tagline of Worth Magazine – The Evolution of Financial Intelligence – closely parallels Wipfli Hewins Investment Advisors' commitment to providing education and new ideas as well as traditional investment advice. In that spirit, Roger Hewins, John Bussel and Colleen Jordan Hallinan were thrilled to provide a response to the question, "I have become much warier of risk in my investment portfolio, but I also do not want to be too cautious. What is your advice?" in the October-November 2009 issue of Worth Magazine.

  • In the Spring-Summer 2009 premiere edition of Worth Magazine, Hewins Financial Advisors was featured as a Leading Wealth Advisor. To be included, every firm and individual was vetted by Worth researchers and analysts through PaladinRegistry.com, a leading information services company. In a three-page spread, Roger Hewins, John Bussel and Colleen Jordan Hallinan provided information about their services, our firm and an answer to the question, "How do you assure clients that your recommended investments are appropriate?"

  • Wipfli Hewins, Hewins Financial Named Top Wealth Manager
    For the 5th consecutive year, Wipfli Hewins Investment Advisors and Hewins Financial Advisors ranked among the top wealth management firms in the country. We ranked 77th out of 407 firms participating in a more extensive survey by Wealth Manager Magazine. The annual survey ranks wealth management firms based on average assets under management.

  • Wipfli Ranks 5th in the Country in Assets Under Management for CPA Firms
    In a recent survey of CPA firms with wealth advisory units, Wipfli LLP ranked 5th nationwide in total assets under management. Accounting Today - CPA Wealth Provider based the ranking on 132 participating CPA firms. An article July 20, 2009, titled "Wealth Magnets" reported that the top 10 firms, including ours, manage $25 billion of the $40 billion total assets reported in the survey.   • Hewins Financial Advisors was profiled in the May 11, 2009 issue of Forbes magazine. The feature was titled "Putting Clients First: Hewins Financial Advisors has an extraordinary commitment to investors."

Our People in the News

  • Wipfli Hewins is proud to announce that Nate Wenner has recently achieved Preferred Status with the MD Preferred Service Network through the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA). Specifically for physicians seeking fee-only financial advisors, this network accepts NAPFA members through a stringent application and review process to determine professional competency and comprehensive financial planning skills.

  • Nate Wenner was featured in the column Pay Dirt in the November 15, 2009 issue of the Star Tribune. The title of the article was "Allowance rules, math can be tricky."

  • The 2009 Stanley C. Myers Presidents' Leadership Award (photo) is named for Stanley C. Myers, the late Founding President of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, and is given annually to two dynamic young Jewish leaders who have demonstrated outstanding service to Miami's Jewish community. Among this year's honorees was our own John Bussel.

  • Nate Wenner wrote the Star Tribune article, "Stock-market lemmings too often lose money" which ran on March 29, 2009. Nate talks about the importance of investors working with an advisor who knows you and the details of your situation and goals. Resisting the urge to follow the crowd or the market is essential. Each person has their own appropriate asset mix, based on their individual situation and planning circumstances.
