Questions to Ask a Prospective Financial Advisor
by Nate Wenner
Principal / Regional Director

I thought you might be interested to see a recent piece by columnist Kara McGuire in last Sunday's Minneapolis Star Tribune, in which I was quoted. The article focused on the most important questions a person should ask before choosing a financial advisor.

She believes the key question is whether a potential advisor will agree in writing to act as a Fiduciary, with a duty "to put the client's interests first." Most Financial Advisors and their firms will NOT agree to do this, and in fact are not held to this important standard. But overwhelmingly, when prospective clients learn about this fundamental issue, they demand it in their relationship. As well they should.

Is this something you'd like more information about? I welcome your feedback.
